THE CUTTING EDGE OF EVENT HOSPITALITY

Blog #3

This week has seen two major visual developments at The Point. People who use the Manchester Metrolink service will have had the best view of the enormous glass panels which are now in place at the front of the building, overlooking the famous Old Trafford pitch.

It is the biggest taste so far of how the stadium will look going forward, and how good it will be next summer when The Point is in use and there is cricket on the pitch. It also shows just how far advanced the building work really is.

In a week when our Gold Marquee hosted the star-studded Key103 Jingle Ball, celebrities were greeted not only with a red carpet, but some red walls too. Yes, the coloured cladding that will make The Point such an iconic building, has started to be added. The appearance of the red panels answered a much-asked question in the office – would the red have to be painted on by some unfortunate soul with a roller?

It's definitely turning red

The Jingle Ball by the way was amazing, deemed to be a great success by all, and a demonstration of LCCC’s ability to host big events like this. Once The Point is up and running, we will be in an even better position to do this, and we will hope to welcome more famous faces regularly to Old Trafford.

Those of you as excited about the hard hat tours as we were a couple of weeks ago (see previous blog –  a day at the office ), will be pleased to know that they are due to start in January. If you would like to be one of the first people to take a closer look at The Point, send Hannah an email at hjones@lccc.co.uk  for an invite.
